Summer IEW Classes for Moms!

Are you looking for information about the IEW Summer Writing class for moms? I am so excited about the response to this.  Now we need to begin getting some of the details worked out.In order to watch both sets, we need to begin on June 30th.  I can do two sessions each week, either two afternoon sessions or one afternoon and one evening.  I just need to know which will work for you most of the time.  I understand with camps, vacations, and other summer fun you may need to switch between sessions and that is fine!  We can even schedule a make-up session or two if enough people have to miss a week.  Below is the schedule I have set.  The abbreviations are: TWSS=Teaching Writing: Structure and Style (IEW's writing method) and TTC= Teaching the Classics (www.centerforlit.com) .

 
 

June 30/July 1: TWSS Disc 1, Tips/Tricks to end of Unit 2  (Key Word Outlining and Summarizing from Notes, Style)

July 7/8     TWSS Disc 2, Tips/Tricks to end of Unit 3 (Summarizing Narrative Stories)

July 14/15    TWSS Disc 3, Tips/Tricks to end of Unit 4 (Summarizing references)

July 21/22    TWSS Disc 4, Tips/Tricks to end of Unit 5 (Writing from Pictures)

July 28/29    TWSS Disc 5 to Unit 6 & 7, T/T to end of Unit 7 (Library Research Reports & Creative Writing)

August 4/5    TWSS Disc 6 to end of Unit 9, T/T to end of Unit 9 (Essays & Critiques)

August 11/12    TTC Lesson 1: Preparing for Literary Analysis

August 18/19    TTC Lessons 2 & 3: Plot, Conflict, & Setting

August 24/25    TTC Lessons 4 & 5: Character & Theme, Practicum, Lesson Planning

 
 

Please help me plan by answering the following questions:

When is the best time for you to view the DVDs?  Tuesday afternoons from 1-3 (children welcome)     Wednesday afternoons from 1-3 (children welcome)        Tuesday evenings from 6-8  (moms only)

 
 

Will you be bringing children?  If so, what ages?

 
 

Are you interested in both the Teaching Writing Structure and Style and Teaching the Classics: Literary Analysis? 

 
 

Will you need the teacher's notebooks?  It really is recommended that you have these to take notes and to use for future reference.  The cost is $25.44 with tax for the writing notebook and $26.50 for the literature course.
